GoZero involves ZEE Network members at Oxford University, Sheffield Hallam University and the Open University Business School. 

The project is comparing and contrasting governance arrangements across the UK four nations, and is also taking a close look at five different secftors, dominated by SMEs. These are: hairdressers, salons, construction trades, businesses in industrial supply chains (e.g. steel), and horticulture.

Over 60 interviews with key actors involved in the governance of these places and sectors have now been completed, and the team are building up an accurate picture of the complex landscape of business support for Net Zero.

The research coincides with significant change at all levels of government, such as the end of Local Enterprise Partnerships in England, the devolution of net-zero responsibilities to some combined authorities, and emerging plans for an Energy Advice Service, as promised in the Energy Security Strategy.

The research team are planning a series of academic articles and other outputs and are open to collaborations with ZEE Network members and beyond.
